About Clarion University of Pennsylvania

Clarion University of Pennsylvania is a public university in Clarion, which is a borough in Clarion County, in the US state of Pennsylvania, approximately 100 miles north-east of Pittsburgh. Clarion serves as the county seat of Clarion County and has a population estimated at a number of more than 6000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.

Clarion University was established in 1867 and it is one of the 14 universities of PASSHE (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education). It currently offers its students associate's, bachelor's, master's and post master's certificates in a wide range of study areas.

Athletics

Clarion's athletic teams are known as the Golden Eagles, which compete in NCAA Division II, for most sports, except for wrestling, in which they compete in NCAA Division I.
